Thomas Shaffrey, MD Presented with the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians’ President’s Award

Trenton, N.J. – The New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians (NJAFP) recently presented Thomas Shaffrey, MD with the President’s Award at the NJAFP’s Annual Scientific Assembly in Atlantic City.
The NJAFP, the largest primary care medical specialty society in the state, is a leader in health care practice transformation and advocacy, advancing the specialty of family medicine and improving access to high quality health care for patients.

The President’s Award is presented to an individual who provided outstanding service to NJAFP during the course of the outgoing president’s term. Outgoing NJAFP President Robert T. Gorman, MD, presented Dr. Shaffrey with the award in appreciation of the help he provided to Dr. Gorman during his term and for his many years of admirable service to NJAFP.

A past NJAFP president, Dr. Shaffrey has practiced medicine in central New Jersey for more 25 years and currently treats patients in Somerset County. In addition to his involvement with NJAFP, Dr. Shaffrey is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Somerset County Medical Society, and the Medical Society of New Jersey.

Dr. Shaffrey received his undergraduate degree from Seton Hall University and attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at Somerset Medical Center.

Dr. Shaffrey resides in Bridgewater.
