NJAFP Presents Arnold Pallay, M.D., With Its Lifetime Achievement Award

TRENTON, N.J. — ‘Citing his dedication to family medicine and his contributions to community health and the state of New Jersey, the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians recently presented Arnold Pallay, M.D., of Vanguard Medical Group with its 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award. Each year, this award is presented to one outstanding physician in the state who demonstrates long-standing dedication to furthering the primary care specialty of family medicine through excellence in care, community engagement and support of new physicians in the specialty.

“Dr. Pallay has shown an extraordinary commitment to improving the health of our community,” said Robert Eidus, M.D., president of Vanguard Medical Group and also a previous president of NJAFP. “Through his study and special training in genetics and genomics, he has brought an additional level of diagnostic expertise to patients who may be genetically predisposed to certain conditions. His focus on travel medicine also has helped keep many patients healthy while they are traveling out of the country. Dr. Pallay is well-known for his thoughtful and thorough approach to health care, with a focus on patients first, which is the hallmark of an outstanding family physician.”

Pallay is the director of practice development for Vanguard Medical Group and serves as medical director of both the Montville and Lincoln Park sites. He is also the founder and current associate medical director of Jacobs Levy Genomic Medicine and Research Program at Atlantic Health System. He is a longtime appointed member of the Montville Township Board of Health.

He has served as president of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians, the Morris County Medical Society and the New Jersey Association of Medical Specialty Societies. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Society of Human Genetics.

Pallay has written for the Core Content of Family Practice on medical genetics and lectures extensively on issues in primary care, health care reform and precision medicine.

He completed his undergraduate and medical school studies at Boston University and a three-year family practice residency at the Mountainside Hospital. Pallay resides in Montville, New Jersey.
