Highlights from NJAFP Foundation's Inaugural Golf Invitational!

The NJAFP Foundation's Inaugural Golf Invitational, which after a two-month delay, finally went off beautifully at Linwood Country Club August 21, 2019.

The event included 51 attendees (45 golfers), who enjoyed a beautiful (and hot!) day on the course. The Redeye foursome swept the day, coming in first with a score of 63 and also won the Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin contests. Joe Howley from Dr. Schauer’s foursome won the other Closest to the Pin contest.

The event was made possible by our 36 sponsors, including hole sponsors, meal sponsors, contest sponsors and player sponsors – not to mention homemade honey by Dr. B and other great takeaways from Vanguard and AtlantiCare!  We couldn’t have done this event without the support of our friends and partners and cannot thank you enough.

A special thanks to Dr. Joe Schauer, who chaired the event and provided NJAFP staff with guidance and motivation, despite the downpour that canceled our event in June. For those of you who could not attend the rescheduled event, we hope to see you next year!

The Foundation will use the proceeds from this event to continue its important campaign, Keeping Care Primary in New Jersey (http://keepnjdocs.org/). Over 60% of our primary care physicians are taking their medical training and leaving the State, citing their inability to tackle medical school debt if they remain in NJ’s unfriendly primary care environment. We hope you and/or your organization will continue to support this cause through future NJAFP Foundation events and campaigns.
