Indra Cidambi, MD

Indra Cidambi, MD is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. She completed her residency in Psychiatry from Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York and her Fellowship in Addiction Medicine from NYU/Bellevue.

Dr. Cidambi not only improved addiction treatment by innovating to the Ambulatory (Outpatient) Detox model for all substances of abuse (alcohol, benzodiazepines and opiates), she also helped to increase access to addiction treatment through the utilization of this lower-cost/higher-efficacy outpatient detoxification model. She has worked with various media outlets NPR, CBS, Fox, WSJ, etc,) to reduce the stigma associated with the disease of addiction.

The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) has recognized Dr. Cidambi for her contribution in proving the outpatient detox model to be safe and effective. She was elected President of the New Jersey chapter of ASAM. New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy, has nominated her for the GCADA (Governor’s Council of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse). Glaxo has reached out to Dr. Cidambi to make her the national spokesperson for Nicorette, a nicotine replacement therapy product to help people quit smoking along with NASCAR legend, Dale Earnhardt Jr. In addiction Dr. Cidambi hosts a live FaceBook event every Monday that is open to the public. The Sheriffs of Monmouth County, Morris County and Atlantic County in New Jersey have been on the show along with prosecutors, recovery specialists and treatment providers. She also answers questions from the public relative to addiction and treatment. The show garners thousands of views every week.

In the past, she was the Director of Chemical Dependency at Summit Oaks Hospital and later founded her own substance abuse treatment program, Center for Network Therapy, which offers Ambulatory Detoxification, Partial Care and IOP programs at three locations in New Jersey.
