NJAFP is proud to host the AAFP's 2020 Ten State Conference,  February 28-March 1, 2020 at Caesars Atlantic City Hotel.

On behalf of the New Jersey of Academy of Family Physicians, it is our pleasure to welcome all of you to the beautiful state of New Jersey for the Ten State Regional Meeting. Ten State represents a unique opportunity for chapter executives and leadership to come together and focus on our shared issues and experiences. We are excited to spend the next few days collaborating with you.

We have developed many exciting programs for this meeting that we hope you will enjoy, on a variety of topics from drug pricing to leadership challenges. Don’t forget to take a break for some fun - stop by the Evening Reception beginning at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 28, for a great opportunity to network with your colleagues while enjoying a drink.

While you are here, we encourage you to take advantage of everything Atlantic City has to offer. Whether it is shopping, gaming, or sightseeing, Atlantic City has something for everyone. If you need any tips on what to see or where to eat feel free to reach out to any of your NJAFP colleagues, we are happy to help.

Board Chair

Family medicine leaders are now gathering in Atlantic City from across the upper Midwest and East Coast, including AAFP leadership and family physicians from Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and of course, from right here in New Jersey.

Aside from an engaging weekend filled with topics of current interest on policy and leadership, we’re experiencing the historic seaside resort city that was the inspiration for one of the most famous games in the world

Did you know...

  • Monopoly is based on "The Landlord's Game" developed by Elizabeth Magie in 1903 as a protest to the monopolists of her time (think Rockefeller and Carnegie).
  • A typical game lasts 60 to 90 minutes. The longest game of Monopoly is reported to have lasted 70 straight days (but don't worry, the meeting is only three days).
  • There is a Game of Thrones themed Monopoly Game, one of more than 1100 that have been released.
  • When the game first appeared, rent on Pacific Avenue was $26. Today a 2-bedroom condo would cost you about $165,000.

Congratulations to MInnesota AFP for winning the Friday Monopoly challenge!  Check the mobile app for all news and announcements for this year’s Ten State, and follow the action right here on our Twitter feed!
