Course Description

This 30-minute presentation is part 2 of a 1.5-hour session and aims to help primary care physicians to address mental health in patients with lupus.

The AAFP has reviewed Lupus Lecture Series: Lupus & Mental Health and deemed it acceptable for up to 0.50 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credit. Term of Approval is from 10/20/2021 to 10/20/2022. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize the prevalence of depression/anxiety in patients with lupus
  2. Identify the causes and factors that contribute to depression/ anxiety among patients with lupus
  3. Discuss management strategies
  4. Identify, address, and manage type 2 symptoms (fatigue, depression, anxiety, brain fog, insomnia) in patients with lupus
