John J. Nevins, DO, FAAFP is a 1987 graduate of NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine completing a rotating internship at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in 1988. Dr. Nevins then completed his residency in Family Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson/ Saint Peter’s where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Nevins served the Middlesex County community in private practice for over 20 years. He has been an advocate for the medical community as president of the medical staff and department Chair at Saint Peter’s University Hospital. He is an advocate for primary care access for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, having served as medical director of the ARC of Monmouth Adult Primary Care program for 2 decades. He is the two-time recipient of the ARC Health Professional of the Year award and serves on the ARC of NJ’s advisory board. Currently, Dr. Nevins is the medical director of Atlantic Health System’s Overlook Family Medicine faculty practice in Chatham, NJ. He and his family live in Monmouth County and appreciate the joys of the Jersey Shore!
