Frank Aliganga, MD, is a dedicated physician double board-certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine. He is deeply committed to serving underserved communities and is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), contributing to the advancement of the field of family medicine.
Dr. Aliganga is the founder of Empowered Health DPC, a Direct Primary Care clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive, personalized healthcare while removing insurance barriers. His practice focuses on fostering strong doctor-patient relationships and empowering individuals to take control of their health.
Previously, Dr. Aliganga served as a Family Medicine Physician at Cooper University Health (CUH) and an Instructor of Family Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) in Camden, NJ. He was also the Chief School Physician for the Camden City School District.
His medical journey began at the Charles Drew University Medical Education Program at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, followed by residency training at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles. After residency, he pursued a Fellowship in Community Medicine at Kaiser Permanente, where he served four Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and a Homeless Mobile Clinic in the Los Angeles area. Prior to returning home to South Jersey, he worked in a school-based community health center in Los Angeles, providing care for at-risk youth and underserved populations.
These experiences have profoundly shaped his approach to patient care, reinforcing his commitment to addressing healthcare disparities and advocating for accessible, high-quality care.
