Dr. Bhattacharyya received her MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical College at the University of Delhi, India. Before coming to the United States to complete her residency in Family Medicine, Dr. Bhattacharyya continued her medical education in Europe obtaining her board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She then traveled to St. Georges University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies where she was an Associate Professor and Director of Physical Diagnosis and the Director of the Simon Bolivar Clinic at the university. She completed her Family Medicine residency training in the UMDNJ Family Practice Residency Program at St. Mary Hospital in Hoboken, NJ in 1997. From 1997 until 2006, she was the Associate Program Director of the UMDNJ Family Practice Residency Program at St. Mary Hospital in Hoboken, NJ. In 2006, she moved to the UMDNJ RWJMS Family Medicine Residency Program at Centra-State Medical Center in Freehold, NJ where she was the Director of Women’s Health and Curriculum development. From 2009 to 2016, Dr. Bhattacharyya was the Program Director at the Rutgers RWJMS Family Medicine Residency at Capital Health.

Dr. Bhattacharyya is a member and fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and a member of the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine. She is also the Past President and Board Chair of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians.
